Not far from us is the Museum of Brisbane which aims to showcase Brisbane’s past, present and future where you can discover Brisbane’s hidden history and culture.
It is something of an institution dedicated to the preservation and understanding of art, culture and history. They believe that art, culture and history should be experienced by their audience so they have made it their mission to provide spaces for people to explore their topics in depth.
It tells the stories of Brisbane’s diverse communities and their contributions to shaping the city. It is one of many museums in Australia which focuses on telling a city’s story through interactive exhibitions, artworks and digital displays.
The Museum of Brisbane is committed to telling Brisbane’s story – from aboriginal occupation to present day – through exhibitions, programs and events. They believe that art, culture and history should be experienced. They work on a variety of projects which often means that they are coming up with new exhibits every six months to inform visitors about the history of this Australian city and its people.
The team at this museum does not have any formal training but they have experience working as journalists, writers and editors for newspapers, magazines and other publications. This has helped them to hone their storytelling skills as they know how important it is for people to be able to relate to what is being said through an exhibit or event.
